We find them in our timelines year-long, almost every single day: Top tips, hot trends, key secrets! A zeitgeisty outgrowth of the guidebook epidemic. It's the attention economy, stupid!
Human attention is a scarce commodity and, obviously, experts found out that their audience is susceptive for top tips rankings.
Most of these rankings, however, only aim for just one thing (besides your attention): Remaining you of shortfalls or vapes, that only the author can repair. Often it's about tech-related, digital topics.
I'd like to encourage you to, well, not to ignore those messages, but to question their relevance and credibility. Recently I saw a 'Guidebook to Guidebooks'. That really made me burst out laughing. I honestly hope you'll have fun, too!
